Reed Hine - Ohio

Reed Hine PhotoDuring his early days as a life and health insurance broker, Reed discovered that very few people understood money management.

Reed’s background and training was initially in Engineering at General Electric Company. After only five years on the job, however, Reed and many of his peers were laid off on a very “black Friday”. Reed had a young wife, a new baby and a new home and he needed a change after the disillusionment of abruptly losing his livelihood and his career with one of the Fortune 100 companies.

Reed found the change as an industrial sales rep and began a new career as a neophyte with the locally based and internationally recognized Cincinnati Time Recorder Company. Reed’s skills and personality proved a valuable asset and he progressed to become the National Distribution Manager.

Reed saw that his future was not his own, even in the enviable position he held. He also discovered that he wanted to deal with people on a more personal level and he knew he wanted more control of his income and of his activity. He studied his options and embarked in 1986 on a career in the insurance and financial services industry.

Reed quickly learned that there was a wide spectrum of insurance and financial products to sell and that some were much better than others for his clients. He decided that he could serve his clients best as an independent broker providing a wide range of life and health insurance products that he carefully chose to address the unique needs of each of his clients.

During the early days as a life and health insurance broker, Reed discovered that very few people understood money management. Even Reed’s parents knew only the old paradigm that was a remnant of the depression: earn, save, spend little, borrow less. After the double-digit years of the 60's, the "Poverty Paradigm" of the ‘30’s was less useful, if not financially fatal. Still, it was better than the “go-go” practices of the ‘70’s and early ‘80’s, which were ill conceived and thoughtlessly created what is known as the “Debt Paradigm”. Reed’s quest to find a better way to financial security began.

Three years later, Reed met Jeffrey Reeves. They found in each other a common desire to help their clients take control of the money that flows through their lives. Reed is now a Money for Life Guide. He guides courageous, motivated and determined clients in the principles and practices of Money for Life....in good times and bad.
